BELOIT — EBates Beloit is gearing up for the holiday shopping push, and the e-commerce company is set to hire 120 seasonal workers at its Beloit facility to handle the influx of growth, according to company officials.

EBates partners with over 2,000 retailers and online businesses to offer EBates customers special discounts and cash back opportunities for online
shoppers.

EBates representative Brent Shelton said the company expects to see 20 percent more online spending compared to last year’s holiday season.

Shelton also said mobile device users also are carving out a larger part of the market, as opposed to previous years when consumers would research products on devices and then make purchases on computers.

“Now technology is centered on one-click shopping and the ability to do mobile payments has made that part of the consumer world excel pretty rapidly,” Shelton said.

Applications will be accepted through September for all positions that are centered on customer service, assisting EBates users access discounts and cash-back rebates.

“The majority of that correspondence will be handled through email in a digital process,” Shelton said.

Applicants should have general computer knowledge, and EBates offered an open workspace, free catered lunches and other job-related perks at the office in the Ironworks campus in downtown Beloit.

EBates retained around 40 percent of all its seasonal hires last year in Beloit, and that trend is expected to continue this year, Shelton said.

“Those numbers show a qualified candidate could have a real opportunity to stay on and become full-time,” he added.

This year’s hiring push will be diverted through EBates social media channels, a new change from last year. Shelton said the move will let prospective employees see the culture of the company before coming aboard. To apply, visit the group’s Facebook page @EbatesBeloit.
