ROCKFORD— SwedishAmerican, a division of UW Health, won approval this morning from the Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board to expand its excellence in healthcare with the construction of a new 70,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art clinic on Bell School Road, near the SwedishAmerican Regional Cancer Center campus.
The clinic will offer nearly 100 clinic rooms, 25 providers, and feature OB/GYN, pediatrics, family practice, internal medicine and endocrinology services. Additionally, it will offer ancillary services including lab and medical imaging. The new facility will sit on approximately six acres at a cost of $24 million.
“SwedishAmerican is thrilled to move forward with this project and continue the growth of our SwedishAmerican Medical Group,” says SwedishAmerican President & CEO Dr. Michael Born. “We are committed to caring for our community and this new facility will do just that, provide convenient access to high-quality healthcare to our patients, families and residents in the area.”
The project is one of many SwedishAmerican is working on to help meet the needs of our patients, families and residents in the community. Additionally it will add approximately 300 union labor construction jobs and dozens of permanent healthcare jobs. For more information, visit www.swedishamerican.org.
