FNBT announces promotions

First National Bank and Trust (FNBT) recently announced the promotions of four employees in the Human Resources and Marketing departments.

Anna Toye has been promoted to Vice President – Human Resources Manager. Toye is responsible for all areas of human resources including employee relations, staffing, and payroll, as well as administration of the UltiPro HRIS system. She joined FNBT in 2004 and earned the designation of SHRM-Certified Practitioner (SHRM-CP) through the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) in 2014. This competency-based certification within the HR industry demonstrates critical thinking, thorough knowledge of HR concepts and requirements, as well as tests for the behavioral competencies required to effectively apply knowledge in the modern workplace. Toye also holds the Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification through the HR Certification Institute since 2007. She is a graduate of Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa, and resides in South Beloit with her husband Randy and three children, Riley, Brady and Luke.

 

Photo of Chelsea BallouChelsea Ballou has been promoted to Vice President – Marketing Innovations and Analytics Officer with nearly 15 years of marketing experience, nine of which have been with FNBT. Ballou graduated from Lewis University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and earned a Masters of Business Administration degree from Cardinal Stritch University in 2011. Ballou is responsible for new marketing channel strategies, and marketing analytics, as well as management of Search Engine Optimization (SEO), and Pay-Per-Click (PPC) initiatives to drive online account opening. She has a background in website management, direct mail marketing, and project management. She is a member of the ABA Marketing Network and graduated from the American Bankers Association (ABA) School of Bank Marketing and Management in 2008, earning the Certified Financial Marketing Professional (CFMP) designation in 2015. Ballou volunteers as a board member for the Nutrition Health Associates (NHA) of Rock County. She is also a member of the Government Affairs Advisory Council (GAAC) for the Greater Beloit Chamber of Commerce. Ballou lives in Roscoe with her husband, Pat, and four children, William, Audrey, John and Ava.

Photo of Theresa WendhausenTheresa Wendhausen has been promoted to Vice President – Branding and Communications Manager. Wendhausen is responsible for the bank’s internal and external communications including content, intranet management, social media strategy and media relations. She also manages the bank’s corporate community relations and charitable giving initiatives to correspond with First National Bank and Trust’s brand of providing Sound Advice. Wendhausen has nearly 20 years of financial marketing experience with an extensive background in media planning and coordination, website, communications, video production, direct marketing and merchandising. She graduated from the American Bankers Association (ABA) School of Bank Marketing and Management in 2003 and received her Certified Financial Marketing Professional (CFMP) later that year. She joined the School’s advisory board in 2008. In 2015, Wendhausen graduated from the ABA Stonier Graduate School of Banking and earned a Wharton Leadership Certificate. She currently teaches Public Relations and Communications at the ABA’s Bank Marketing School and has presented at various financial industry conferences on public relations. Wendhausen volunteers with many nonprofit organizations. She is currently a board member for the Friends of the Riverfront, and recently co-chaired a fundraising event for the YWCA-Northern Illinois. She has volunteered since 2010 with the Federal Reserve Bank’s Money Smart Week in the Northern Illinois Region, and has co-chaired the Money Smart Kids Committee since 2012. Wendhausen lives in Roscoe with her husband Kirk and their sons, Carson and Caleb.

 

Photo of Christine BarwickChristine Barwick joined FNBT in 2014 and has been promoted to Learning Solutions Officer. Barwick is responsible for managing the compliance training program for the bank, identifying and facilitating leadership training for new and current leaders, and developing technical training to meet system and process needs for the bank’s business partners. She has nearly 10 years of banking experience, most recently working for Bank of America as a loss mitigation manager. Prior to banking, Barwick worked for a large property casualty insurance organization where she managed the call center and underwriting teams as well as the training department. She earned a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Wisconsin – Madison, and holds professional certifications in the Center for Leadership Studies curriculum, Situational Leadership’s Building Leaders and Taking Charge courses, as well as a variety of Achieve Global leadership training course design modules. Barwick is a member of the Janesville Woman’s Club Association, and has been involved with fundraising for the Boy Scouts of America Glacier’s Edge Council and  YWCA-Rock County. Additionally, she volunteers for Beloit Meals on Wheels. Barwick resides in Janesville with her husband Robert and their five children, Sabrina, Haley, Lindsay, Sarah and Robbie.
