BELOIT — The spirit of competition will be in the air as the theme of the Downtown Beloit Association’s Annual Awards dinner is “Family Feud.”
The dinner is set for 6 p.m. on Feb. 8 at the La Casa Grande Banquet Hall.
Promotions coordinator Crystal Cribbs said there are a total of 12 awards that will honor downtown businesses, including best new business, best facade rehabilitation both under and over $10,000, best public and private partnerships in revitalization, best corporate supporter, volunteer of the year, the chairman’s award and more.
She said this is the fourth year the Downtown Beloit Association (DBA) will be performing skits to go along with the awards dinner.
“We want to make it fun and interesting event and have lots of laughs,” Cribbs said.
Cribbs said the DBA is going to be celebrating the past year’s accomplishments, any changes, newcomers to downtown and recognizing award winners.
“We are awarding the businesses and recognizing them and everything they do for Downtown Beloit,” Cribbs said. “The downtown area wouldn’t be what it is without constituents looking to improve and shape it.”
She said the DBA is doing its part to recognize the businesses in an area that is growing every year.
“We’re definitely not finding ourselves stagnant,” Cribbs said. “Our goal for the DBA is to always take a look at our events in order to make them better.”
A $25 admission ticket includes hors d’oeuvres, one drink ticket and a cash bar. Cribbs asks those wishing to attend to RSVP by calling 608–365-0150 or emailing email@example.com before Friday.
