BELOIT — Beloit’s southernmost McDonald’s restaurant will be getting a face lift.

Franchise owner Guy Bucciferro III announced recently the McDonald’s restaurant at 45 State St. will see renovations starting in March.

“We are very excited for the opportunity to help brighten up one of the main entry points between Beloit and South Beloit,” Bucciferro said.

The renovation will bring a “new look, inside and out” with a new exterior facade and a “completely gutted and new lobby,” he added.

The renovations will coincide with mobile ordering via the McDonald’s smartphone application and curbside to table service, set to be added to the new Rockton-area location.

The Rockton location held a groundbreaking in August, with the restaurant set to open Dec. 13, Bucciferro said. The new Rockton McDonald’s on Rockton Road in front of Blain’s Farm and Fleet, will feature a self-order kiosk. The interactive screen will allow customers to place their orders, modify their burgers or salads and pay for it at the kiosk. Rockton’s restaurant will have side-by-side drive-throughs and be open 24 hours a day. The restaurant will be 4,500 square feet in size with seating for 50 customers.

The renovations of the State Street location coincide with the ongoing improvements being made to Beloit and South Beloit, he added.

“We’re so proud of all that both communities have done, especially with the downtown (Beloit) area and The Confluence,” Bucciferro said.

Bucciferro said he hadn’t seen renovation cost estimates yet, with no timeline for completion being mentioned in the announcement.

Bucciferro owns 12 McDonald’s restaurants stretching from Byron, Illinois, to the west side of Janesville.

His three Beloit locations including the restaurant on Madison Road, State Street and Milwaukee Road. He owns two in South Beloit — one on Prairie Hill Road which will relocated, and the one off Interstate.
